I place family and friends foremost in my life. My wife is my eternal lifeline, my son gives me inspiration and my friends keep me grounded.
Alongside my family and friends, my other passion is travel. I love to meet new people and understand the nuances of different cultures – it helps you to see the world from different perspectives. I have travelled to many places across the world but have a particular draw to Asia, and have spent considerable time attempting to learn Mandarin: this is a slow and ongoing process. I also have an interest in data and machine learning, altfinance and new technologies such as wireless power. I like to attempt photography once in a while, play badminton and enjoy the odd pint of real ale.I’m a data professional and entrepreneur living in London working in the crossover between technology and finance.
I‘ve worked with companies large and small tinkering with technology, data analytics, risk management and electronics. I set up my own risk management training and consulting firm based out of Hong Kong in 2007 (experiencing startup life within a financial crisis as it was in full swing) and in 2012 I co-founded QuidProQuo, a peer-to-peer lending company, with the idea of making finance fair for small businesses and investors. More recently, I have been helping co-found a new spin-out from Imperial College, commercialising ground-breaking wireless power electronics set to change the way power is delivered.
